All
things in balance. All things in moderation.
Some very wise Chinese sage implied this many many years
ago. I've always believed the truth lay in the center
of the extremes. And that those who live in the middle
aren't the wish-washy gooey center of the nation, but the
strong silent majority of humanity.
All things extreme
fall off the sides eventually, fundamentalist conservatives
will alienate the masses, hyper-progressive liberals will
alienate themselves. The left and right turn signals
are loud and flashy, but it's the mass in the middle that
carries the load, that is the driving force, that when
moving forward straight and true won't even need the 'moral'
blinkers of the left or right political turns.

Temperance is
moderation in the things that are good and total
abstinence from the things that are foul.

Freedom of Speech
Amendment I : Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
This
website is a living example of the First Amendment. I expect the free exercise of expressing my personal opinions and observations to be treated as a right protected by the Constitution of the United States. A constitution that I've on more than one occasion sworn to protect with my life. I will make a conscience effort to avoid slander and libel. I expect every aspect of my government to protect my right to express my opinion, no matter if sections of said government disagrees wholly or in part with my opinions.
